About us
I can watch all the matches on the planet on my tablet, but I won’t be able to see my sister play basketball Sunday morning at the nearby gym, it’s so unfair!
Aurélien, 12 years old
The idea for SPORT AMAT came from this little sentence heard at Robert Debré Hospital at the beginning of 2023.
Aurélien is hospitalized for a month and while he can watch Kylian M’bappé’s exploits on his screen, he’s frustrated that he can’t attend Éloïse’s basketball game, his twin sister, who’s playing this Sunday morning in a gym less than 300 meters away.
Since it was their birthday, I went, armed with my phone, to live stream the wonderful baskets scored by his sister directly to Aurélien through “Face Time.”
It may not seem like much, but this little moment of happiness allowed Aurélien to be in the best possible condition before going into surgery. Additionally, Aurélien and Éloïse’s grandfather, in an Ehpad in Bordeaux, was also able to enjoy his granddaughter’s achievements.
The idea of Sport Amat was born! All that was left was to make it happen by assembling a solid team.
An IT engineer (François-Xavier Bazantay) and an audiovisual director (Bernard Schoukroun), friends for 20 years, share a common passion: sports. A complementarity in work, based on trust, transparency, and the spirit of challenge. A genuine and natural benevolence combined with constant conviviality.
We had wanted to start a business together for a while, with the ambition of pooling our networks to give synergy to our projects. But we were missing the third person. Someone who shared the same passions and values. Remi Girault quickly emerged as the missing link to our duo. His commercial experience, his network in the “French tech,” his curiosity, and his initiative are the essential assets we needed to start this adventure.
So, we form an experienced trio with three important networks: Media and audiovisual, cutting-edge technology, digital business.
Sport Amat is exactly what we were looking for. A new and technological company that offers an open-access service to everyone. A way to help clubs, volunteers on and around the field. A means to raise the level of our 15 million members. A way to create connections, by founding the first social network for amateur sports.
